Howdy, I’m August Joaquim Soto, a screenwriter and fiction writer creating character-driven genre stories, especially horror and supernatural work rooted in folklore, identity, and the uncanny. This is my hub for past works, current projects, writing updates, and a peek into my acting career.
What’s on the Menu?
I’m launching this space because I’m tired of only sharing the “after” versions of creative work. The polished announcements. The final drafts. The neat little wins. Most of the real story happens in the messy middle, where you’re rewriting a scene for the fifth time, talking yourself out of quitting, then talking yourself back in.
This newsletter is my public notebook. A place to track what I’m writing, what I’m learning, and what I’m making next. Respirar, my first feature-length screenplay, will make appearances because it matters to me, but this space is bigger than any one project. You’ll also see other works in progress: scripts, scenes, pitches, and whatever new idea decides to bite down and not let go.
